I apologize if this has been covered before. I found an article in the Watchtower of October 15, 2013. It is quite interesting how science is sometimes credible, sometimes is not. Reminds me of the 607 vs 587 BCE "controversy". Some historical information is reliable, other is not, the governing body may say. Quite convenient. Paragraphs 2 and 3 are so filled with hypocrisy and fallacy.
One widespread false teaching that blinds people to the truth about God is the doctrine of evolution. This human reasoning contradicts the Bible and robs people of hope. In its basic form, the teaching of evolution asserts that all life came into existence spontaneously; it thus implies that human life has no purpose.
On the other hand, fundamentalists of Christendom teach that the universe, including our earth and all life on it, is only a few thousand years old. Those who teach this doctrine—known as creationism— may have high regard for the Bible, but they contend that God created all things in six 24-hour days just a few thousand years ago. They reject credible scientific evidence that contradicts their view. As a result, the teaching of creationism actually discredits the Bible, making it appear unreasonable and inaccurate. Individuals who promote such views might remind us of some in the first century who had a zeal for God “but not according to accurate knowledge.” -

Chemical warfare in Syria-can man be saved?
by Monsieur inthe images on the news after the town in damascus was attached with a chemical weapon was incredibly disturbing.
babies dying, people suffocating, it was man at his worst.. can man be saved?
it seems the entire world is implicated in this conflict.

Monsieur,
The point, obviously not well delivered. TV news is not a representation of the world at large. TV news offers you the worst of people, rarely the best. The real world is quite a different story. I have never been mugged, beaten, or suffered any kind of violent crime in my life. I am 48. I believe my life is more representative of humanity than TV news. No question there is suffering in the world, but to imply the typical JW mantra "the end is coming" is reading too much from the TV news piece. If you were a JW before, I think you still need some deprogramming.
I don't mean to ignore the news. Get it from newspapers, it's not as addictive and tends to be more objective.

Men have been killiing each other for thousands of years, but somehow the population of the planet has tripled in one century. In fact, JW's call it the worst century ever. Turn off the TV and enjoy life. Most people have been, are at peace, and WILL be at peace with each other.

"There are no facts only interpretations" F. Nietzsche.
Therefore what? We don't exist, there are no events, no actions.
So foolish and pretentious to quote catch phrases that are devoid of any practical meaning. Go to a website that deals with philosophy. Most of us here, deal in the realm of practical knowledge.

Be patient, even if you feel the urge to scream, be good to your parents, but the most important thing stay away from baptism. Jesus got baptized when he was 30.

Feedback. I got some inspiration
by never a jw inwhen i found the following quote in another thread of the watchtower of november 2013 all of a sudden i got the push and the ideas to do something to denounce jehovah's witnesses as a dangerous religion.. at that time, the lifesaving direction that we receive from jehovahs organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint.
all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound... or not.
(4) now is the time for any who may be putting their trust in secular education, material things, or human institutions to adjust their thinking the elders must stand ready to help any who may now be wavering in their faith.

I am in a business that allows me to procuce flyers at a reduce cost. My business is in L.A.
My idea is to produce a flyer that folds in four parts, double sided on legal size. The title may be "Jehovah's Witness, a Mainstream Religion or a Dangerous Cult, You decide"
In the first part, start with a brief and objective description of the religion, a very brief history and even speak well of the morality and behavior of the members, as well as the apparently healthy and happy social environment. Then, in some of the remaining parts of the flyer (6) describe, starting with a question the multiple questionable practices and doctrines (Example: "Shunning, a loving rule or a destructive practice?). Support each subject with one or two quotes from Watchtower publications and document supporting information in the last part of the flyer (multiple websites, dozens of books by ex-members and the Watchtower own publications).
Anyone in the area of Los Angeles CA, let me know if they are interested in such a project.
The flyer can be given to religious organizations that may be interested in spreading the information, or even individuals anywhere, the street, the Mall, the dentist's office.
